December 22, 2008

And the other two followed closely, laughing at his discomfort. "The Seventh Scroll" by Wilbur Smith ♦♦♦◊◊

Suspect in alleged theft possibly wearing a magic hat and carrying a corn cob pipe. Other identifying physical characteristics include a button nose and two eyes made out of coal.

There are more snow pictures later in the post. I know that this is old hat for many of you, but I really feel the need to document the reason for my inability to mail Christmas Presents Winter Gifts yet.

To distract you (and myself) from the endless snow conversation - OH! I had NO idea how addictive the weather coverage could be! People stranded in the airport for FOUR days! People stranded at the Amtrak station for FOUR days! People stranded at the truckstop for FOUR days! Highways closed! Children sledding! Power outages! Good Samaritans!

Ahem. Where was I?

Isaac quilt 2008Distraction! Put on your sunglasses! Here's the lap quilt my grandson will eventually receive (if I ever get to leave my house again).

Some sort of stack 'n slash technique, about 54x60" (I forget). It's spread out on top of a double-sized bed, for reference. Picture's washed out. Uh, funky lighting because of (sorry) reflection from SNOW.

Isaac quilt backBut wait! There's more!

Here's the back of the quilt. Hope you hadn't taken off your sunglasses!

All the while I was piecing this, I kept hearing the little whisper in my head: "Taste the rainbow..."

Okay, more snow talk (don't worry, I'll be posting more fibery-goodness soon).

Let's see... an update to the picture taken from my back step:

3rd snow 2008

Oh! And this. I've long suspected that this thermometer is crap - in the summer time it routinely reads in excess of 100 degrees when it doesn't feel all that hot:

Mr. W. still feels the effects of his slip and fall last Friday, but overall he's okay. He shoveled a bit on our driveway this morning, because the snow is deeper than Puppy-butt is tall! Then he shoveled our elderly neighbor's drive a bit in case the emergency vehicles need to get to her.

That's enough snow talk for now. We're still relatively healthy, we're not going hungry, and we're VERY fortunate that neither of us requires constant interaction with another human being to remain sane (well, at least we think not!). I can't believe I'm not getting more sewing/quilting/knitting/crocheting/reading done though.

Weird time-space continuum thing, I'm sure.

Perhaps suspect has used ornamental chicken to help fly south? ;-)

Such good neighbors you are! Totally evident that Christmas is in your heart. S-no stopping you!

Merry Christmas!
