"There are no Beatles." "Broken Prey" by John Sandford

I am fully aware that it's not Wednesday. But, just like reading a series of novels out of order, I just can't bring myself to post my current progress on the Slight Nod to Boxy Stars (aka SNuBS) that I've been working on.

I think that recently I mentioned something about not designing, testing, prototyping, but just giving my brain a break and working from someone else's pattern.

I don't know if I am completely incapable of doing that, but it seems to be much more difficult than I thought it would be.

On a related note - the last three books that I've listened to have been quite satisfying. The most recent Sandford book (Invisible Prey) was a-Set in the Twin Cities (MN), b-Mentioned Wal-Mart (which he does in almost every novel), and c-Involved antique quilts (quilts are also often mentioned in his novels).

My previous post bemoaning my choice of novels garned a few promising suggestions in the comments for 'new' authors to check out - thank you all! I'm off to the library today, so I'll check them out (maybe literally!).

I've never listened to audio books. Maybe i should give it a try. I prefer working with my own ideas too and I like wonky so no planning ahead.

I love your blog! I belong to two of the quiltville groups. I've read several of the Prey series and really like them. Have you read Tami Hoag? I should try audio books for when I'm quilting, it would solve the problem of do I quilt or do I read. Thanks for a good read.

Check out The Patchery Menagerie tomorrow for help with the Bento Box blocks.
